Women weep after losing millions to CBEX

Tears and anguish have trailed the reported crash of CBEX, a popular digital trading platform that promised investors 100% return on investment in just one month.
The platform, which had gained massive traction among Nigerians with its mouthwatering offers, reportedly collapsed over the weekend, leaving countless users in financial ruin. Many users took to social media to lament their losses after discovering that their account balances had suddenly dropped to zero, and all attempts to withdraw funds were futile.
CBEX, which operated in USD, marketed itself as a secure investment vehicle driven by AI trading. However, red flags emerged when users began experiencing withdrawal delays, followed by the locking of CBEX Telegram support channels. The final blow came when the platform demanded an additional $100–$200 “verification fee” from users in order to allegedly recover their trapped funds—an act many have described as a desperate scam tactic.
A viral video circulating online shows two Nigerian women in tears as they mourn the loss of their life savings. One of the victims revealed that she had only recently joined the platform with high hopes, only to watch it crash days later with her money gone.
Their story has resonated widely online, with netizens expressing a mix of sympathy, frustration, and criticism over the continued spread of Ponzi schemes disguised as digital investments.
