Luis Enrique speaks on PSG ahead of Arsenal’s showdown

Luis Enrique insisted that Paris Saint-Germain are competitive enough to deal with Arsenal should things not go their way in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final tie on Wednesday.
Paris Saint-Germain are in a strong position to make it through to the second Champions League final in their history after Ousmane Dembele’s early goal gave them a 1-0 win away to Arsenal in the first leg of their last-four tie last Tuesday.
“We’re here because we deserve to be, we won the first game, and tomorrow’s objective is to win the second,” PSG boss Luis Enrique told reporters.” In what is their fourth semi-final in six years, the Parisians are gunning for their first-ever Champions League.
Luis Enrique’s men revived their bid to lift the top continental club competition after finishing the league phase down in 15th. Having got past Liverpool and Aston Villa in the last 16 and quarter-finals, respectively, they look to eliminate a third English side on their way to the final.
Enrique, who will be reunited with Mikel Arteta for a third time this term, warned his side that a tough match awaits them. “He (Arteta) was a great player, and he’s a great coach,” he said. “We saw that with his work at Arsenal, and it’s clear that the match will be difficult, as it was in the first leg.”
On his team’s abilities to deal with Arsenal should the match not go their way, the Spaniard added: “We’re going to have to stay true to the ideas we’ve had so far. We’re going to go into this match and build on our strengths. If things don’t go our way, we’ll be competitive enough to turn things around.”
