Lamine Yamal has featured prominently in the documentary released by Barca One about the fight for the Copa del Rey and La Liga titles.

The young player, who insists he still has room to improve, has set his sights on winning everything he previously achieved plus the Champions League and the World Cup by the time he turns 18.

Lamine Yamal is one of the brightest talents in world football. The Barcelona youngster, just 17 years old, has made remarkable progress this season and will reach adulthood in less than a month. When that happens, the winger already knows exactly what he will demand of himself.

“At 18, I want everything I had at 16 and 17, plus the title I’m missing and the World Cup. I’m not thinking about having many years left to play; I want to win now. I tell the fans that we will fight, and the Champions League will surely come home again,” said the player in the documentary Inside Barca, released by Barca One.

Throughout the segment covering the final push for the Copa del Rey and league titles, Lamine Yamal made it clear he still has room to develop: “Because of my age, I will improve every year as my body grows, and the difference with other opponents will become more noticeable. I will feel more comfortable on the pitch.”

Meanwhile, the Spain international also stressed that winning the Spanish Super Cup against Madrid gave them confidence for the season’s climax: “Losing a final at the start of the year against our biggest rivals would have been difficult, but coming out victorious was very good for the team.”

Finally, the Barcelona prodigy reflected on their eternal rivals and the five Clasicos won this season. “Helping to beat Madrid is always something very special, something you dream about from a young age. The team is very competitive, and we have proven it.

“In a Clasico, you have extra motivation, and we kept Madrid from touching the ball for 25 minutes in our half. At Camp Nou, it will be even easier for the fans to come and enjoy the game,” he concluded.
