Aboyeji gets second tenure as Foursquare general overseer

Rev. Sam Aboyeji has been re-elected as the general overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria.
Aboyeji will continue to lead the church for another five-year term starting in November.
The announcement was made by the northern regional coordinator of the church and chairman of the electoral committee, Rev. James Jacob.
Aboyeji received a significant majority of 1,931 of the 1,979 votes cast by delegates at the special convention held at the Foursquare Camp, Ajebo in Ogun State.
The convention coincided with the church‘s international conference for ministers and leaders.
According to the church‘s constitution, the general overseer is required to secure a simple majority vote from delegates for the renewal of their mandate after the initial five-year term.
Part IV, Section 2 (h) of the constitution stipulates that the general overseer serves for an initial five-year term, renewable for a final term of five years through a secret ballot of „yes“ or „no“ held in April at a Special Convention.
