Association urges women to be proactive, explore potential


The Excellent and Dignified Woman (TED-Woman) an interdenominational gathering of women has urged women at all level across the world to
carefully explore and develop their innate potential to the fullest for the benefits of generations coming after them.
The Convener, Mrs Busola Lanre-Oke gave the advice during the inauguration and Prayer Summit for women on Saturday in Abuja.
Lanre-Oke said that the group was aimed at raising transformational women leaders who were purposeful, valuable were positioned to influence their generation.
Lanre-Oke said that women needed to be responsible in whatever situation they find themselves in order to promote the society in a meaningful and impactful ways.
This, she said would lay good and solid foundation as they have major and important roles God had accorded to them.
Lanre-Oke said that women have no excuse from being who they were and what they want to do on earth adding that whatever one maybe going through does not stop one from being what he or she was determined to be in life.
According to her, women need to learn to reinvest, discover their potential, create awareness, read books and related issues, develop great habits which enable their development.
“ A virtuous woman can be measured by many lives she has impacted positively which underscores why women must strive to live a virtuous life and impact her world.
“Women should also think of the skills or trade they can acquired with best of knowledge and wisdom to help the household and the society.
“This is important in order not to be a liability or rendered useless out there where she may indulge in unlawful acts turning her into miserable being, “she said.
The Convener enjoined women to discover their purpose, saying that every woman was a leader and homebuilder whose purpose was connected to a problem in the nation or community they were born to solve.
Lanre-Oke expressed gratitude to the speakers, panelists, guests, officials among others for making the inauguration and prayer summit a resounding success.
Speaking, Mrs Olusola Oyewole, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Eminent Events and Cakes, Abuja said emphasised the importance of resilience and determination in overcoming obstacles.
Oyewole said that women needed to be courageous, determined, skillful among others relative irrespective of their background to make a unique story of life in the society.
According to her, having excellence and building strong values to achieve unlimited success is very paramount as a woman.
“As a woman, you need to set priorities right. There is nothing you cannot sell for a start. Salary is Slavery. You need a skill to move forward.
“Try and find something doing as a woman, Your husband giving you money is not enough. God also need us to fulfill destiny, “she said.
One of the participants, Mrs Ajoke Ifeajika said commended the organisers of the event adding that it was a laudable initiative.
Ifeajika pledged to be a TED-woman while assuring to explore her potential and be the best version of herself.
Other Panelists which were Mrs Titi Olaleye, Co- Convener, Family Resource Ministry, Barrister Toyin Contor, CEO Sharing Passion Nigeria Initiative (SPNI) Dr Femi Lanre-Oke, CEO Still Waters Foundation discussed the significance of networking, especially for women aspiring to grow in their careers or businesses.
They also encouraged women to pursue their vision and support one another for peaceful co-existence in their communities and the world at large.
Over 100 women attended the programme onsite and online. Highlights of the event were discussions, opinions, suggestions, questions and answers by participants and panelists.
