The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the final figures of new voters for the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states.
According to INEC, 119,206 new voters have been registered in Edo State, while 58,708 have been registered in Ondo State. These figures do not include transfers from other states or within the two states, as they are already captured on the voter register.
A statement by INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, says commission has completed the cleaning up of the data using the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) and will soon release the comprehensive and final register of voters for each state.
An analysis of the new voters, including their distribution by local government area, gender, age, occupation, and disability, has been published on INEC’s website and social media platforms.
