Police arrest 2 for conspiracy in Niger

Niger State Police Command has arrested two suspects for conspiracy, theft of motorcycles and receiving stolen property.
This was contained in a statement by the command’s Public Relations officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, on Tuesday in Minna.
Abiodun said that the feat was achieved in continuation of the command’s effort to check crimes and criminality in the state.
He noted that on April 3, at about 2.30 pm, based on a complaint received, the Crack Squad of the command arrested two suspects.
According to him, the suspects are Mohammed Usman, 18, and Mohammed Kola, 22 years.
“It was reported that on March 28, at about 5 pm, the said Usman boarded a motorcycle to a hotel around Tunga by Old City-gate.
“After dropping, he invited the cyclist to his hotel room, while he tricked the cyclist, took his motorcycle key and locked him in the room and made away with the motorcycle.
“In the course of investigation, police detectives swung into action and arrested Abdullahi, who has a pending case of criminal force and assault over a gang fight at a mining site in Paiko”, Abiodun said.
He added that Abdullahi led police operatives to a mining site in Paiko, where Usman was waiting for him to collect the proceeds of the crime, and he was arrested.
The spokesperson further said that two motorcycles were recovered from Abdullahi and he confessed that Usman brought the motorcycles to him for sale.
He added that Usman also confessed to the crime and stated that he stole one of the motorcycles from Obajana, in Kogi, at a mining site early in March.
According to him, the two suspects were undergoing investigation in the Crack Squad office, with the two recovered motorcycles.
