Abdulrahman Sade, the Sadaukin Bauchi, a veteran media consultant and public analyst has warned the numerous rights and advocacy groups across the country calling on President Bola Tinubu to appoint the Group General Manager, National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS), Bala Wunti to succeed Mele Kyari, the GMD of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari.
In a statement on Friday in Abuja, Dr. Sade said that the President is on top of his game as it concerns the Nigerian oil sector, “and he will make his decisions at the right time; therefore, we should allow the leaders of the sector to work diligently for the growth and development of the sector and the nation.”
According to Sade, Bala Wunti has been given a vital national assignment at NAPIMS and “he has been on it seamlessly.”
“Whatever assignment somebody like Wunti is given, no matter what organization it is, he applies all of his efforts, since it is all about serving the nation and its people. This has been his watchword at NAPIMS and even at his previous positions, and he will also not desist from doing the same in the future.
Bala Wunti, he added, is a serious minded and selfless son of Bauchi State hence they would not allow his being portrayed as greedy fellow. “Therefore, we should allow him to focus on his job.”
Sade, said that his kinsman, Wunti is in cordial relationship with GMD of NNPCL, Mele Kyari. “They have been working cordially for years for the growth of the nation, contrary to the picture the advocacy groups have been painting.
“Both Kyari and Wunti have Nigeria’s growth at heart. No one is spoiling anyone’s job. Therefore, the right groups should stop overheating the polity or causing confusion.
“The team of Mele Kyari and Bala Wunti has taken the country to an unprecedented height and development through their rigorous and unalloyed efforts in the transformation of the NNPCL.”
He added the Mele Kyari led team alongside Bala Wunti and others have their names written in gold in the history of the Nigerian oil sector despite challenges and distractions within and outside the sector.
He said that the oil sector bosses have wadded the turbulent waters with vigour and altruism. It could be recalled that one of the greatest income and remittance to the Nation’s coffers came from the NNPCL. END
