2023 presidential candidate, 7 others expelled from party

The Accord Party (AP) has expelled its 2023 presidential candidate, Christopher Imumolen, alongside seven prominent members, citing breaches of the party’s constitution.
The decision was made during a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting and was communicated through a statement signed by National Chairman Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem and National Secretary Adebukola A. Ajaja.
Among those expelled are:
Comrade Lanre Ogundare (Lagos State Chairman)
Surajo Ibrahim (Zamfara State Chairman)
Muktar Abdalla (Borno State Chairman)
Chief Abiola Samuel Odeoba (Former Ekiti State Chairman)
Dr. Falaye Ajibola (Former Ondo State Chairman)
Prince Adebisi Wale Ganiy
Dzingina Jacob Ephraim (Nasarawa State Chairman)
Additionally, three members—Salimu Lawal Boyi (Katsina State Chairman), Fatima Mohammed Zarumi (Acting Yobe State Chairman), and Abdullahi Isa Kasowa (Bauchi State Chairman)—were suspended for violating several provisions of Article 20A of the party’s constitution.
The NEC adopted the findings of a seven-member disciplinary committee that investigated allegations of gross misconduct, anti-party activities, and actions deemed to disrupt party harmony. According to the party, these violations caused “anarchy and lawlessness,” prompting decisive action to safeguard its structure and integrity.
The leadership emphasized the supremacy of the party’s constitution, warning that adherence to its principles is non-negotiable. The move seeks to reinforce discipline and restore order within the Accord Party’s ranks.
