2027: Kwankwaso undecided as Atiku/Obi ready against Tinubu

Ahead of 2027 general elections, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and 2023 presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party, Peter Obi have reunited to confront President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the election.
The development is coming even as another major opposition leader and 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is yet to take decision.
It was reliably gathered that the major leaders of the opposition parties are working towards a united front against the ruling APC in 2027, except the likes of Kwankwaso who is yet to fully joined the train.
Discoverer Nigeria gathered that both Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, who are already having issues within their political parties, will abandon it for a fresh arrangement.
Political analysts believed that the recent visit of former governor Nasir El-rufai and others to the leadership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) were part of the moves to settle for a platform to use in 2027.
A reliable source within the arrangement told Discoverer Nigeria that opposition leaders will unveil their preferred political party in the first quarter of 2025.
The source said: “Those in PDP will abandon the dying Party for Wike and others. For us in Labour Party, we are moving out enmass with our leader to reunite with the likeminds that are coming out of PDP, APC and others.
“I can assure you that this coalition will render the ruling APC prostrate. The forces coming together are more bigger than what the Emilokan Apostles can withstand.”
When asked whether the former Kano state governor Kwankwaso is also part of arrangement, the source said: “Nobody trust him. Today he will speak like an opposition figure but tomorrow he is in a meeting with the President.
“So, our leaders felt he should be left out for now but if he decides to join later good and fine but for now, it seems he still want to negotiate with the APC,” the LP chieftain revealed.
Another source also revealed that some APC governors in the North and many aggrieved APC leaders across the country are Part of the yet to be unveil Coalition.
The former public officer holder, who preferred annonimity, said: “Governor El-rufai is not alone in this marriage with opposition leaders. Many of us, you know I have worked for APC since inception, are part of it. And the reason is simple; people are suffering. We must fight to bring food on the table of Nigerians which the current administration seems to be indifferent about,” he said.
