Ortom demands apology from PDP disciplinary panel, threatens legal action

Former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has demanded a written apology from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) disciplinary panel, accusing them of publicly humiliating him by announcing an investigation against him without prior notice.

Ortom, through his lawyer C.T. Mue, described the panel’s actions as a violation of the PDP Constitution and Nigeria’s Cybercrimes Act. He insists on a retraction and a formal apology within 48 hours, warning that failure to comply will result in legal action.

Meanwhile, the Benue chapter of the PDP has cast doubt on the credibility of the petitioners behind the allegations, stating that they are not recognized members of the party. The controversy has further deepened internal tensions within the PDP, raising questions about due process and political accountability.
