Akpabio appoints new Chief of Staff

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has announced Chinedu Akabueze as his new Chief of Staff, recognizing his years of dedication to legislative service.
Akabueze, who has served as Senate Clerk since March 2022, is stepping into the role as he approaches his statutory retirement age of 60. Known for his instrumental role in shaping key bills and motions, Akabueze has been a pivotal figure in the Senate during the 9th and 10th assemblies.
Thediscovererng.com reports that his appointment comes as Sylvester Okonkwo, the former Chief of Staff, transitions to his new position as the Executive Director of the South East Development Commission, following an appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement, Akpabio commended Akabueze for his unwavering commitment and exceptional service to the Senate, expressing confidence in his ability to excel in the new role.
Meanwhile, Andrew Ogbonnaya Nwoba has been confirmed as the incoming Senate Clerk, effective December 11, 2024.
