Association of NGOs laud Gombe ministry of budget for robust partnership

The Association of Non-Governmental Organizations (ANGO) in Gombe State has commended the state Ministry of Budget and Economic Development for its exceptional collaboration and commitment to advancing the state’s development agenda.
ANGO made the commendation recently when its members led by their secretary Bachama Yusuf paid a courtesy visit to the state commissioner for budget and economic development Salihu Baba Alkali at the ministry.
Bachama said the ministry’s efforts in formulating and implementing laudable policies, programs, and initiatives with considerations of the inputs of stakeholders helps the state government to achieve much.
ANGO also acknowledged the ministry’s support in facilitating interventions and investments in healthcare, education, climate change, and economic empowerment, among other areas, attracting billions of naira in investments.
The CSOs requested improved citizen engagement in the budget cycle, timely updates on citizens’ nominated projects, and an online directory of non-state actors in the state.
Responding, the commissioner expressed the ministry’s commitment to continuing its partnership with the CSOs to ensure accountable and prudent service delivery to the people.
“This visit demonstrates the effective partnership between CSOs and the government in Gombe State, promoting sustainable development and service delivery.”, he said.
